Kate and James got engaged about a forever ago now. But we’re still so happy and excited for them!

Last week began the one year countdown to the big day!

Congratulations my dears! You are, frankly, awesome.

Yes we’ve been bad bloggers.

Yes, we know this.

Yes, we’ve said this before BUT posting should be more regular coming up! We were having abit of a blog midlife crisis but we’re over it.

 Laura was on Mastermind! And she did fantastically well!

She was a right smart arse answering questions on Vivienne Westwood. She got ten correct in a row. BOOYAH!

She was also a geek at the general knowledge section – even getting a netball question correct. Our PE teachers would be so proud!

This was the moment Laura tried to hide a smirk. Through our furious revision (big up Matt and Jay for being a part of the revision crew. Brap!) we concluded the best way to avoid passing questions was to give the answer ‘Lady Gaga’ to any question she couldn’t answer. Lo and behold this question came up:

“Who achieved her third UK number 1 hit single in 2009 with the song ‘Bad Romance’?”

LOL!

As you can see she scored brilliantly! And went about it looking flippin’ gorgeous.

Well done Laura, you absolute legend!

As you can see from this blasphemous celebration of Christmas, Gareth Mogg has been tarting around in Australasia for far too long. Sure, we could have gone the Aussie route and had a corked-hat themed Neighbours party, but we’re celebrating the fact he’s finally home (Albeit due to Visa issues, not his missing us…)! We want to get Gareth Mogg back from the brink of a silly Anglo-Australian accent, and back into a Newport State of Mind. Hence, the great British tea party!

Now, we’re not flooding you with details on the run up to the party, because we don’t want to completely remove the element of surprise! However, we do promise a full, exhaustive and graphic account of the whole shebang when its done, including photos-agogo, how tos, dos and don’t and even, for perhaps the first time, recipes (omgwtf?!)!!! Stay tuned folks – next week is going to be a busy one x

An excuse to wear a zorro mask, or massive boots basically. Not that you need an excuse – if you want to wear a mask everyday do it. We won’t judge.

Apparently, they are making a Puss in Boots spin-off movie. Hmm.

Katie uses brightly coloured paper, which she sticks up with masking tape. She says this means she can change her decorations frequently without damaging her walls!

Even though Katie is an artist, some of the shapes she uses would be simple to cut out and they look so sweet in jazzing up some plain walls!

And as we’re fans of recycling here, look what she does with her left over paper scraps:

She’s converted them into a table covering by scattering them and covering with a clear table cloth sellotaped to the sides of her table! This would look amazing on party tables (but would require alot of preplanning to collect so much paper!)

We’ll be doing some serious recyclage – including from our Blits Party! Nothing is more British than a tea party, so we’re planning on using the Union Jack Bunting we made (for free, remember) to jazz it up a bit, as well as some of our Englishy props!

We hope to find more bits and bobs to recycle for our party, and of course, we’ll be keeping you updated. Save the planet whilst saving money is all partof the service. No need to thank us in person – just send cake x

Teas2Dine4 is aces – loads of themes, ideas, recipes, crafts and all sorts of whatnots for a damn good tea party! We love it! She even has a whole page on Tea Party Etiquette. I actually *love* her.

We will of course be taking advice from our own extensive library of books, including the Vintage Party Games one we featured a while back (can’t wait to try out Up! Jenkins myself – sounds like a game of gods) and Mrs Beeton’s book of Household Management – can’t beat the Beeton!
